Who is Carl Cholette
My Story
My name is Carl Cholette and I’ve been a Fitness, Nutrition & Health Coach since 2006, motivated by a passion for health and fitness that has lasted over 30 years.
When I started training at the age of 16, I was a skinny 145-pound teenager measuring 5 feet 9 inches. Inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s photos in the 1991 Guinness Book of World Records, I was determined to transform myself into someone strong and muscular, despite the doubts of those closest to me.
Living on a farm an hour from Ottawa, with no gym nearby, I improvised my workouts in a barn using a dumbbell made from a metal water pipe, bricks and metal clamps. It took dedication and creativity, but after two months of training with my body weight and this homemade dumbbell, I gained 20 pounds of muscle.
As I gained confidence and strength, people began to notice me. Having obtained my driver’s license at 16, I joined a gym and continued to progress, reaching 200 pounds after a year of intensive training.
Encouraged by the gym owner, I entered a powerlifting competition at the age of 17, where I came second with a 335-pound bench press. Despite my success in training, I realized that I lacked nutritional knowledge, observing the people around me who suffered from poor health.
Wanting to be not only strong but also healthy, I immersed myself in various training philosophies, diets and alternative therapies, experimenting extensively over the years to find what worked best for me and my clients.
Over the past three years, I’ve faced new challenges as the owner of a cattle and sheep farm. Long hours of physical labor and animal care left little time for exercise and proper nutrition. The stress added to the demands of being a father, driving my children to school and their activities. A daily responsibility, every other week, that took about 3 hours a day, 5 days a week!
Despite these challenges, I managed to regain my balance.
Now 48 and with over 30 years’ experience in the fitness world, I’ve faced life’s obstacles, including divorce and the demands of life as a farmer. All this has enabled me to condense my experience into five essential principles aimed at busy men over 40, so that they can achieve a naturally lean, muscular and healthy physique.
As a fitness, nutrition & health coach, I specialize in helping my clients reach their full potential without resorting to extreme dieting or excessively long training programs. I strive to help men increase their energy, vitality and overall well-being, in addition to their physical transformation.

- The raw vegan diet (no animal products, including eggs, cheese, milk, etc.)
- The fruitarian diet (raw fruit only)
- The Raw animal diet (raw beef, bison, fish, eggs and milk)
- The Carnivore diet (basically, I eat only meat and eggs)
- The Low-fat diet (less than 10% of daily calories)
- The low-carb diet (less than 10% of daily calories)
- The Keto diet (almost 0 carbohydrates, with carbohydrates coming solely from low-carb vegetables)
- The high-protein diet (40% or more of my daily calories in the form of protein)
- And I’ve tried other variations of all these diets!

- Intermittent fasting (16:8, 18:6, 20:4)
